SANTA CLARA, California—December 9, 2009—Atypon Systems, Inc. today announced that it has appointed Atlas Co., Ltd. as a preferred reseller for Atypon's software. Atlas will market and support Atypon's software to professional and scholarly publishers in Japan.

Atlas (www.atlas.jp/english) is Japan's leading technology partner for publishers, having developed the J-STAGE journal hosting platform under contract to the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). Atlas is based in Tokyo, the nucleus of Japanese publishing.
