eMeta Technology Powers Digital Commerce Capabilities of the Aviation Week Intelligence Network

eRights Software to Support Integrated Media Service for Global Aviation and Aerospace Professionals

NEW YORK, NY, April 15, 2002 - eMeta Corporation, the leading provider of information access control and commerce software, today announced that it is powering the digital commerce capabilities of the Aviation Week Intelligence Network, (AWIN), the newest offering from Aviation Week, a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE:MHP).

eMeta's flagship technology, eRights, serves as the commerce backbone for AWIN, the most comprehensive integrated media service for the global aviation and aerospace industry. An open infrastructure software solution, eRights enables the management of the customers, products, and subscriptions required for digital commerce, including user authentication and authorization.

"eRights does its job," said Cort Bucher, Senior Director of Technology and Operations/ Web Shared Services. "To build commerce capabilities like this would have taken us ages - if we could have done it at all. However, we used eRights basically out-of-the-box, and we were able to show proof of concept almost immediately. Just being able to enforce user concurrency rules has already positively impacted sales."

eRights enables AWIN, designed as a tool for aviation and aerospace professionals, to quickly and easily offer both individual and enterprise subscribers access to all or portions of content aggregated from across the Aviation Week media network, including: multiple magazines, dailies and journals, Aviation Week's AviationNow.com Web site, business services, archives and news services. Most importantly, eRights provides personalized authentication for each AWIN subscriber - not only ensuring secure access, but also enabling subscribers to customize this access at any time.

"We're very proud to be partnering with Aviation Week on AWIN," said Ethan Mollick, vice president of business development for eMeta. "They continue to be one of the leading innovators in online services, providing critical business information in a timely and affordable manner."
